Physician Information Sheet

About Us

The Interprofessional Medical and Allied Groups for Improving Neighbourhood Environments (IMAGINE) clinic is a UofT-affiliated, interprofessional, student-run community health initiative that provides healthcare to marginalized populations in downtown Toronto.

Our aim is to engage health professional students in learning and applying clinical skills to address the needs of underserved patients across the GTA. Our clinic is staffed by students and preceptors from the disciplines of medicine, pharmacy, nursing, physical therapy, social work, and occupational therapy.

Services We Offer

We offer episodic care (harm reduction counselling, family planning, wound care and more) while connecting patients with other providers who can facilitate continuity of care.

What it Means to Be a Physician Preceptor

Our physicians guide students as they review cases and serve the needs of patients. They are not expected to see patients directly or do any charting, although they are welcome to do so. Our physicians have found the multidisciplinary experience of IMAGINE to be especially fulfilling– it is a unique experience that blends the opportunity to teach enthusiastic students while learning from different healthcare professionals.

Time Commitment

You may choose to be involved in the clinic as much or as little as you’d like. Our clinic runs from 10 AM to 2 PM every Saturday, except on statutory holidays.

Benefits of Working With Us

  • Support and inspire health professional students to work with marginalized populations

  • Strengthen your teaching skills with junior trainees

  • Get specific feedback from learners about teaching style (if desired)

  • Make a difference in the local Toronto community
